Memorial stonework: Pardo reports more orders and bespoke work
In a 26 October Focus Piedra interview, Javier Pardo reports more orders for the All Saints campaign than a year earlier. Around 60% of his company’s work is customised.
He describes image-based reliefs produced with CNC equipment alongside hand finishing. This is one company’s account, not a national statistic.
Editorial perspective: the value of bespoke stonework includes design, customer approval and finishing as well as the material. Separating these stages makes a quotation easier to understand. The experience does not demonstrate uniformly rising demand for marble or granite and should not be extrapolated to every workshop. It highlights a business model to examine, rather than a guaranteed market opportunity.
