Spain: marble exports decline through August
On 26 October, Focus Piedra reported ICEX figures showing Spanish rough and worked marble exports at €197.39 million for January–August 2026, down 6.4% year on year.
Worked marble accounted for €164.49 million and rough material for €32.90 million. Both declined. These are monetary values, not physical quantities.
Editorial perspective: block suppliers should keep that distinction clear. Lower revenue does not automatically mean an equivalent fall in tonnage or in every grade’s price. Assessing demand also requires destination, volume and product-mix data. The aggregate result cannot establish a quotation for an individual lot or show how each quarry is performing.
